Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick will reportedly miss the club's trip to Sunderland on Sunday.
The 30-year-old has not trained for the past two days due to illness, according to The Sun, and is therefore not expected to be part of the squad.
Tom Cleverley and Ryan Giggs are therefore expected to battle for a spot alongside Paul Scholes in central midfield.
United need to beat Sunderland and hope Queens Park Rangers take points from Manchester City if they are to keep hold of their Premier League title.
