Manchester United have reportedly written to the Football Association to tell them that Ryan Giggs will be the only over-age player from the club that will be released for the Olympic Games.
Team GB coach Stuart Pearce is allowed to choose three players above the age of 23 for his squad this summer.
However, Giggs will be the only player from Old Trafford to take part if he is selected, according to PA Sport.
The FA have already confirmed that players who take part in Euro 2012 will not be considered for Team GB.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed on Thursday that Javier Hernandez would not be released for the Mexican squad for the Olympics.
