Kevin De Bruyne: 'I do not care about Chelsea'

Kevin De Bruyne reveals that he does not care whether or not new club Manchester City edge out former employers Chelsea en route to silverware.

Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that he does not care where former club Chelsea finish in the Premier League this season, providing it is behind Manchester City.

The Belgian returned to England last month by joining the Sky Blues from Wolfsburg for a club-record £54m, having previously endured an indifferent spell at Stamford Bridge.

When asked if he would revel in helping the Citizens pip Jose Mourinho's side to trophies this term, the playmaker told The Mirror: "I don't care as long as we win something.

"Hopefully we can win a few cups. I am happy we went to the next round of the Capital One Cup. We have a lot of players and we all want games.

"I had a four-year contract left and Wolfsburg didn't want to let me go. So it is different to when I had a one-year contract and Chelsea wanted me to leave. With the way the team is playing it is nice to come in to."

The 24-year-old has already scored twice for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
