Yaya Toure has admitted that he is more awestruck than ever over Manchester City's individual quality, claiming that the current generation of Sky Blues are the best ever.
The arrivals of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, for a combined £103m, have significantly strengthened the Citizens' forward line, and Toure believes that he and his teammates are the most exciting team in Europe.
Striker Sergio Aguero, De Bruyne and Sterling were all on target in Tuesday's 4-1 win at Sunderland in a third-round League Cup clash, and the Ivorian is relishing the prospect of seeing City's new-look attack when they gel.
"Kevin De Bruyne has been brilliant. He gave an assist and scored one goal at Sunderland. Raheem is scoring, and Aguero is our top striker and our top goal scorer," Toure is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
"Could we be one of the most exciting teams in Europe now? Yeah, to be honest, I think yes. It is full credit to chairman who made this happen. It is like in Africa — we say it is like the mayonnaise: you all blend together.
"Yes, we are working to be the best City team. It is difficult because we have just bought those players like De Bruyne and Sterling. We need to make sure they feel part of the team. But I look at it and think, 'Woooah!'"
Manuel Pellegrini's side won their first five Premier League outings, but a 2-1 defeat by West Ham United at Eastlands stifled their early-season heroics last weekend.
City, who remain top by two points, travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
