Luton Town have confirmed that teenager Luke Trotman has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 17-year-old defender made his senior debut for the Hatters back in January against Cambridge United in the FA Trophy.
Trotman has recently returned to full fitness after a spell on the sidelines with a broken leg.
"It's difficult not to be impressed with the attitude and application of Luke," manager John Still told the club's official website. "He had an injury, a broken leg, but it has only served to make him mentally stronger - which is an important characteristic in any player.
"Luke is a very good player, too, and he has already shown me in the time that I have been at the club what an intelligent and athletic defender he is."
Luton are back in action on Saturday when they host Newport County in the first round of the FA Cup.
