Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that the club are close to signing Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old has been on loan at Portman Road since September and McCarthy has admitted that he has come to an agreement with Stoke boss Tony Pulis about extending Higginbotham's stay with the Championship club.
McCarthy told BBC Radio Suffolk: "I spoke to Tony Pulis. He's happy to do that and Danny is as well. So we just need to tie that up."
Higginbotham has played 12 times for Ipswich this season.
