Preview: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Ipswich Town

Sports Mole previews the Championship clash between Wolves and Ipswich as Mick McCarthy visits his former club for the first time since being given the Molineux boot.

Mick McCarthy returns to Molineux for the first time when he takes his improving Ipswich Town side to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

McCarthy was sacked by the West Midlands club last season before they were relegated from the Premier League.

He has since taken over at Portman Road and steered his new team out of the Championship bottom three thanks to a series of more consistent performances.

Considering that, he is likely to name the same side that beat Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day - Ipswich's fourth win in their last six fixtures.

The only alteration that the former Wolves boss could be tempted to make is sacrificing Adam Drury for the more creative midfield influence of Luke Hyam.

McCarthy's successor Stale Solbakken may make several changes after seeing his side embarrassed 3-0 by Peterborough United last time out.

Bjorn Sigurdarson and Jamie O'Hara are in contention for recalls, but David Edwards, Slawomir Peszko, Stephen Hunt and Razak Boukari all remain absent with injuries.
