Marcos Alonso insists that he never considered leaving Chelsea during the summer despite reported interest from Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

Marcos Alonso has insisted that he never considered leaving Chelsea during the summer despite reported interest from Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

Alonso joined Chelsea from Fiorentina in 2016 and has scored 15 times in 86 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

Atletico and Real were both credited with an interest in the 27-year-old in the latter stages of the summer window, but the Spaniard has said that he is "very happy" at Stamford Bridge, and is not looking to leave.

"I never saw myself outside Chelsea this summer. I am very happy there, I have three years left on my contract and my idea has always been to stay," Alonso told AS.

"In England I feel very well known, not only by Chelsea fans, but also other teams."

Alonso has scored once in five appearances for Chelsea during the 2018-19 campaign.
