Colon have had a disappointing season, as they rank 21st in the standings after ending the previous season in seventh.
Nestor Gorosito took over in February from the departed Marcelo Saralegui, but the incumbent has had mixed results in Santa Fe.
Sabalero are winless in their last four league games, even if their three recent results have been draws.
Nevertheless, an eight-game unbeaten home run puts Gorosito's men in good stead when they welcome title-chasing Estudiantes midweek.
With Colon's ongoing streak at the Elephants Cemetery starting after their new boss' arrival, they have reason to believe eight becomes nine on Tuesday.
However, the visitors have been in fine form, losing just four games all season and unbeaten since March.
Eduardo Dominguez's men have played 11 games since losing 2-1 at Gimnasia La Plata on March 19, but they have turned it around in the subsequent three months.
Los Pincharratas have Dominguez to thank for turning the tide since replacing Abel Balbo three months back, with the predecessor let go amid a run of three defeats in six league games.
With eight wins and three draws in the last 11 league games, Estudiantes are just six points off River Plate atop the standings.
River have won just two of their last five games in the competition (one defeat), and more dropped points could be advantageous to Dominguez's men.
Team News
Colon captain Paolo Goltz has missed the last two league games because of a heel injury, and it could rule out the centre-back against Estudiantes.
Stefano Moreyra is suspended after his sending-off in the 2-2 draw with Central Cordoba in round 18.
Gorosito is expected to continue with the 5-3-2 approach he has mostly utilised since taking charge in February.
Santiago Ascacibar is suspended for Estudiantes after picking up an accumulation of yellow cards for the league's fourth-placed side.
The away side will be without the services of midfielder Pablo Piatti until December, with the 34-year-old suffering a cruciate ligament injury in April.
Dominguez has altered his approach in recent weeks but could stick to the 4-3-2-1 system that secured a 5-2 triumph against Barracas Central in early June.
Colon possible starting lineup:
Chicco; Meza, Garces, Nardelli, Delgado, Schott; Perlazza, Chicco, Alvarez; Pierotti, Abila
Estudiantes possible starting lineup:
Andujar; Godboy, Lollo, Romero, Benedetti; Guasone, Rodriguez, Zuqui; Rollheiser, Sosa; Carrillo
We say: Colon 1-1 Estudiantes
A score draw is the expected result between Colon and Estudiantes on Tuesday – the home side have scored in seven of their eight home fixtures, while the away team's five goals in six road games under Dominguez should continue.
