Italy have called up Mauro Bergamasco for their Six Nations clash against Wales next weekend.
The veteran flanker, who has 93 caps for the national side, was left out of the squad for the opening two games of the tournament.
He will provide cover for Sergio Parisse, who is likely to face a ban after being sent off yesterday for insulting the referee while playing for his club side Stade Francais.
Italy started this year's competition with a win over France, before being heavily beaten by Scotland at Murrayfield last week.
