Odion Ighalo: 'Watford can survive in Premier League'

Odion Ighalo believes that Watford will have the qualities needed to stay in the Premier League next season.

Watford striker Odion Ighalo has insisted that the club can remain in the Premier League next season.

The Hornets secured a return to the top flight for the first time in eight years on Saturday courtesy of their 2-0 win at Brighton & Hove Albion and favourable results in other games involving their Championship promotion rivals.

Ighalo believes that Slavisa Jokanovic's men will have what it takes to avoid an immediate return to the second tier.

"You see we are playing together as a team but we need to see now who can play in the Premier League," Ighalo told the Watford Observer.

"We understand the way we play and after a couple of months in the Premier League we will understand how the other teams play. I believe we can stay there. It won`t be easy but I believe we can compete."

Watford will clinch the title if they beat Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
