Ben Watson has said that it is a huge honour knowing that he has helped Watford win promotion back to the Premier League.
The Hornets sealed their passage back to the top flight for the first time since 2007 after a dramatic penultimate matchday in the Championship on Saturday.
"It's a huge honour to be back in the Premier League and our supporters deserve it," Watson, who formerly played at the top level with Wigan Athletic, told The Guardian.
Slavisa Jokanovic's side knew that early promotion was possible after goals from Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra handed them a 2-0 win away to Brighton & Hove Albion in yesterday's lunchtime game.
Their fate was sealed when Middlesbrough lost 4-3 at Fulham in a dramatic encounter that saw Ross McCormack net a stoppage-time winner, and Norwich City dropped points away to Rotherham United.
The Londoners finished bottom in the 2006-07 Premier League season.
