Paolo Di Canio targets more signings at Sunderland

Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio wants more signings despite nine arrivals already at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland boss Paola Di Canio has revealed that he is still targeting one or two new signings.

The Black Cats have already brought in nine new players this summer, but the Italian boss is not done yet.

"Of course [I plan to make further signings]," Di Canio told reporters. "But I don't know if it is possible at the moment.

"We have already made some good signings and the club has made sacrifices in some ways, they have spent money.

"So I am happy, but obviously it would be better to bring in one or two other players, but we will see."

Sunderland finished just one place above the relegation zone last season.
