Mark Hughes targets Stoke City history

Mark Hughes challenges his Stoke team to make history by beating Spurs at the Britannia Stadium tomorrow.

Mark Hughes has challenged his Stoke City team to make history by beating Tottenham Hotspur at the Britannia Stadium tomorrow.

Victory over Spurs would represent the Potters' fifth successive home win - the first time the club will have achieved the feat in the Premier League era - and Hughes hopes that his troops use that incentive to good effect.

He told reporters: "If we are able to overcome a very good Spurs side then that would represent five successive home wins in the Premier League - something which I believe hasn't been achieved here before.

"It would be fantastic to achieve that, and then hopefully go on to reach the other objectives that we have set ourselves for the season."

Saturday's encounter kicks off at 3pm.
