Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino confirms that the club will remain at Wembley if they drop into the Europa League in the New Year.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that the club will continue to play at Wembley if they drop into the Europa League.

Spurs saw their hopes of reaching the knockout rounds of the Champions League ended by a 2-1 defeat at the hands of AS Monaco on Tuesday night, but a third-place finish will ensure that they move into the Europa League in the New Year.

Reports had suggested that the club were considering ditching Wembley having lost both of their European games at the stadium this season, but Pochettino has instead challenged his side to make it feel like home ahead of a full season at the stadium next term.

"I don't know where that rumour started. We will play in Wembley. It is the decision of the club - the chairman and the board and us, and me in this case - we are sure we will play in Wembley if we are in the Europa League," Pochettino told reporters.

"And then we need to make Wembley our home. It is a good opportunity to play the next game in Wembley and then to play there if we have the possibility in the Europa League.

"Because next season if we need to play 19 games and cup games and European competitions there, I think we need to make Wembley our home."

Spurs will host CSKA Moscow in their final Champions League group game knowing that a win or draw will guarantee their place in the Europa League.
