Sampdoria are reportedly interested in hiring Vincenzo Montella as their manager for the new season.
The current head coach of the Blucerchiati is Walter Zenga, who only took charge of the club in June following Sinisa Mihajlovic's switch to AC Milan.
However, he has already come under pressure from the fans and was heavily criticized after their 4-0 defeat in the Europa League to Vojvodina on Thursday evening.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Sampdoria have made contact with Montella, as they look to hire a new manager before the Serie A season kicks off in three weeks.
Montella was dismissed as manager of Fiorentina earlier this summer, despite guiding the club to a fourth-place finish in each of his three seasons in charge.
