Sven-Goran Eriksson signs an 18-month contract to become the new manager of Chinese club Guangzhou R&F.

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has been appointed as the new boss of Chinese club Guangzhou R&F.

The 65-year-old has taken up the role following his departure as technical director of United Arab Emirates outfit Al Nasr yesterday.

Eriksson followed manager Walter Zenga, who was sacked due to a disappointing campaign, which left the club sixth in the UAE Pro League.

The Swede, who has had stints with England, Manchester City and Mexico, has put pen to paper on an 18-month contract.
