Zbigniew Boniek has urged the Roma hierarchy to give coach Zdenek Zeman time to get things right at the Stadio Olimpico.
The capital club's inconsistent form this season has seen the 65-year-old come under pressure in recent weeks, coupled with a number of reported rows with some of his players.
However, former Roma favourite Boniek believes that the fans must have patience with the Czech coach.
"We ought to give time to the coach and allow him to grow the team," the 56-year-old told Radio Mana. "He is not the problem or the cause for this negative moment.
"There are fans who are getting angry with Zeman when three months ago they welcomed him as the saviour."
Boniek became chairman of the Polish FA in October.
