Karim Benzema scores a late winner against Malaga in the Copa Del Rey fifth round after Jose Mourinho's side fought back from 2-0 down.

Real Madrid fought back from two goals down against Malaga to claim a vital first leg win in the Copa Del Rey fifth round.

Jose Mourinho's men found themselves 2-0 down at half time after Sergio Sanchez and Martin Demichelis both netted for Malaga.

The Portuguese manager was unhappy with the first-half display and proceeded to make three substitutions at the same time as Mesut Ozil, Karim Benzema and Sami Khedira all took to the Bernabeu pitch for the second period.

Los Blancos were clearly revitalised by these changes and dominated Malaga in the second half.

Madrid's pressure was rewarded as they levelled the match with two goals in the space of two minutes from Khedira and striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Benzema then fired Madrid into the lead with 12 minutes remaining following some good work from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The thriller at the Bernabeu signalled the first time that a side managed by Mourinho had won a game after being two goals behind.

Although the former Chelsea manager's side had the chances to kill of the tie late on, they will have to settle for a one goal lead heading into the second leg.
