Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic has cleared Dani Carvajal of any wrongdoing after the Real Madrid defender was accused of biting him during their Champions League fixture on Tuesday night.
The two players were involved in a heated exchange that saw Carvajal appear to bite and throw a punch at the Croatian, but the former Bayern Munich forward has played down the incident.
The 28-year-old posted on Twitter: "Yesterday's match was very hard and both teams gave everything, but for me, there was no controversy, no bite, or anything."
The match ended in a 0-0 draw, with the second leg taking place at the Bernabeu next week.
