Karim Benzema has claimed that he is just happy to help the team after firing Real Madrid to a 2-1 victory over Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday night.
The Frenchman was left out of the starting lineup in Bulgaria, but was delighted with his contribution as a second-half substitute in the Group B clash.
"Scoring goals is important for every striker but what matters to me is playing for the team," Benzema told Canal +. "The important thing was a win. The fans want me to score a lot of goals, but I'm happy with what I give for the team.
"I have great confidence in myself and when I went on I gave my all."
Carlo Ancelotti came out in defence of Javier Hernandez, who started in attack for Real, after the final whistle.
