Good afternoon and welcome to our live text coverage of Rangers' visit to Clyde in the Scottish Third Division, a game that the away side go into 22 points clear at the top of the table. There's just under an hour to go until kickoff, but we have build-up and team news for you until then.

As expected, Rangers have been a cut above their Third Division rivals this season and have already defeated today's opponents twice. Ally McCoist is building a good, young side and the future looks bright for the once-dominant Glasgow club.

RANGERS: Alexander; Argyriou, Hegarty, Cribari, Wallace; Hutton, Black; McKay, Shiels, Templeton; Little

McCoist has named an unchanged XI for the trip to Broadwood. Rangers are still without some key players: Lee McCulloch, Francisco Sandaza, Ross Perry, Lewis Macleod, Kevin Kyle and Kal Naismith. Today's team are clear favourites to claim all three points nonetheless.

Still waiting on the Clyde lineup but I can tell you that they will be without long-term absentee David Marsh and Kevin Nicoll, while Gavin Brown is tipped to make a return today.

How about some pre-match comments while we wait on the Clyde team?

CLYDE BOSS JIM DUFFY: "There is a massive gulf in resources between the clubs. But we have enjoyed the games against Rangers this season and shown that we can play football at a decent level. This could be our last home game against Rangers for a while so our intention is to go out and make the most of it by having a real go at them."

So according to the former Dundee man, the novelty of playing Rangers has not yet worn off and why shouldn't they enjoy it? It's not often they get to take on a club of this stature.

ALLY McCOIST: "I remember Clyde had a chance to score before we got our goal and there wasn’t a lot in the game. To be fair Dean Shiels scored an excellent goal and then we got another from big Lee towards the end. It was a really important step for us that particular game. We had three games which we’d drawn and a defeat at Stirling and people were questioning the results away from home. It will be equally difficult tomorrow because they have two guys who know the game well and enjoy winning."

To put those McCoist comments in context, the Gers boss is referring to his side's last visit to this stadium when they came out 2-0 winners. It was actually a closer contest than the scoreline suggests but the visitors are better adapted to life in the Third Division than they were back then.

It's been a positive few weeks for Rangers, with new deals for Kal Naismith, Chris Hegarty and Fraser Aird. McCoist is looking to hold on to his best youngsters as the Gers close in on that title.

CLYDE XI: Barclay, Brown, Kane, Gray, Lyden, MacBeth, Fitzpatrick, Sweeney, Watt, McCluskey, McColm

Not too many household names among that Clyde lineup but a couple of their players have experience at some of Scotland's top clubs. John Kane is a product of the Hibs youth system while Pat Scullion began his career at Dunfermline.

For what it's worth, my prediction today is 3-1 to Rangers. The likes of McKay, Shiels, Templeton and Little all pose a threat in the final third, but Rangers are known to concede on the road. Either way, I think some goals are guaranteed.

Jim Duffy's side are currently languishing at the wrong end of the table. They go into the match in eighth with 25 points from 22 games and can move up one place if they pull off a shock win today.

Five minutes to go until kickoff now. It's a good crowd here at Brodwood. Nice to see the stadium full and the fans in good voice.

Clyde get the game underway.

It's a good playing surface at Broadwood today, unlike last time the Gers were here when heavy rainfall battered the surface. Templeton wins an early free kick for Rangers in Clyde's half. He takes it himself but it goes straight through to home keeper Barclay.

Sweeney goes in hard on Lee Wallace, gifting Rangers a free kick just outside their own area. He was reckless with that challenge and was lucky not to pick up a yellow card.

It's a let-off for Clyde as Sweeney makes a hash of a clearance in his own penalty box. He recovers and deals with the danger as Little prepares to pounce on the loose ball.

A beautiful finish from the Northern Irishman, who latches onto a through ball from his fellow countryman Shiels and places his strike beyond Barclay. The Gers are up and running!

The Clyde shot-stopper is the busiest man on the park thus far. He's just had to claim a long-range chip from Templeton, which was never likely to go in.

Rangers are seeing plenty of the ball but the Clyde back four look quite solid. Templeton has just been dispossessed by the hard-tackling Sweeney to grind another Gers attack to a halt.

Half-chance for Rangers as Wallace goes on a great run along the left. His cross falls to Little in the area but a sea of red and white shirts surrounds the striker and closes him down. Again, good defending from the hosts.

CHANCE! Templeton delivers a pin-point cross from a corner and Black is gifted with a free header, but he can't keep it down. He should have done better and at least tested the goalkeeper there.

Templeton squanders a Rangers attack, going for goal when he should have attempted to find one of the other blue shirts inside the box. He puts one into the stand from just inside the area. Not one he's going to want to see a replay of!

The visitors have wasted a couple of opportunities this afternoon but I think McCoist will be pleased with how things have turned out up to now. The Gers have dominated possession and their build-up play has been generally solid. Clyde haven't had so much of a sniff at goal at the other end.

SHOT! Templeton comes close from just inside the box after picking up McKay's deft pass. That one was much closer than his last effort, whizzing inches wide of Barclay's right post.

Another exceptional finish from Little makes it 2-0 to the visitors. The Third Division's top scorer ploughs through the Clyde back line and rifles one into the roof of the net. I wouldn't bet against him claiming the match ball this afternoon!

Rangers, looking superior across the pitch, put their opponents' defence under intense pressure once again, this time through McKay, but desperate defending from the hosts quashes the threat.

Another half-chance for the Light Blues goes begging as Shiels puts too much on a through ball to Little. The striker just manages to keep it in but the attack breaks down.

Brown puts in a terrible tackle on McKay that should have been punished with at least a yellow card. This referee has been lenient today but the important thing is that the Rangers man is unharmed.

McColm chases a long ball towards the Rangers area as Clyde stage a rare attack but Hegarty makes the interception, conceding a corner in the process.

Another half-chance falls to Rangers at the other end. Templeton plays in a cross and Little nods in on. Emilson was on hand to bury but Barclay gets there first.

Fitzpatrick wins Clyde a free kick just outside the Gers' box after a rash tackle by Hutton. Sweeney crosses one in but it drifts into the arms of Alexander, who gets what is practically his first touch of the afternoon.

The match has quietened down these past few minutes but Rangers remain on top. McCoist can draw plenty of positives from this first half. They have scored two of their best goals of the season for one!

It's another top-drawer goal for Rangers as Templeton blasts one in to the top corner from 30 yards! That's his 11th of the season and he thoroughly deserved to get his name on the scoresheet today.

An impressive first-half display from the Light Blues. Three fantastic goals and the lion's share of the possession. What more could McCoist ask for?

What can Jim Duffy say to his Clyde players at half time to lift them after that? There doesn't look to be any way back for them considering they didn't have so much as a shot on goal during the first period.

With a three-goal cushion on his side, I imagine McCoist will take the opportunity to give a couple of fringe players a runout in the second half. Fraser Aird is likely to make an appearance after committing his future to the club earlier in the week.

I'm also expecting to see Little complete his hat-trick in the second half. The Northern Irishman has looked hungry and clinical today, chasing lost causes and looking ever dangerous whenever he picks up the ball.

Rangers' bitter rivals Celtic have also had a good 45 minutes this afternoon. They lead Scots Prem basement club Dundee by three goals to one. No surprises at Parkhead today then.

We are back under way at Broadwood!

Rangers go straight on the offensive with Templeton giving his marker the slip and going for goal. Gray produces a vital interception to quell the threat.

Clyde get a foothold in the game thanks to poor Rangers defending. McKay gives away the ball in the danger zone allowing McColm to gather and cross one in from the left, gifting Watt with a tap-in.

McGachie replaces McColm for Clyde as Duffy makes a like-for-like change upfront. Can the hosts claw their way back into this it turn the game into a contest?

McCluskey goes down under Hegarty's heavy challenge in the area. The home side appeals for a penalty but the Rangers man got the ball... just. That was an example of strong defending as far as I'm concerned.

Templeton bundles the ball home from a tight angle after Barclay pulled off a magnificent reaction save to parry Hegarty's header. The former Hearts man produced a lovely step-over before pulling the trigger there. Brilliant stuff from him!

So Rangers restore that three-goal cushion after a slow start to the second half. There's no way back for Clyde now, surely. Little and Templeton are both on hat-tricks. We could be in for a scrap over the match ball come the final whistle!

Black is shown the yellow card for a foul on McGachie. There wasn't any malice in the tackle but his timing could have been better.

Alexander between the Rangers sticks gets another rare touch as McColm attempts a long flick-on into the box. The Light Blues shot-stopper is quick off his line to nip the danger in the bud.

SHOT! Dean Shiels picks up the ball just outside the Clyde area, cuts inside and has a pop. Barclay makes a comfortable save to his left.

Rangers have brought on Robbie Crawford for Ian Black. He certainly has an eye for goal, so expect Barclay to have more danger to deal with in the last 20 minutes of this game.

CHANCE! Nice build-up play from the visitors as Little and Hutton play a one-two on the edge of the box before the midfielder lashes one wide of Barclay's goal.

Great defending from Gray to keep out Shiels there. The Gers forward powered into the box and was about to pick his spot before the defender put in a vital interception.

More classy football from the Light Blues as Templeton and Wallace exchange passes along the left flank. Barclay is quick off his line to gather before the latter is able to pull the trigger.

Templeton is obviously keen to claim that hat-trick. He lets fly from way out but it is hardly his finest moment, ending up somewhere in the stand.

The Gers have lost some of their urgency, allowing Clyde some possession in the final third but the hosts are unable to create anything of substance. Templeton has been replaced by Fraser Aird now.

I think the former Hearts man has taken a slight knock and McCoist is unwilling to take a chance on him. It's easy to see why after today's fantastic performance.

Emilson concedes a corner from Kane's cross. Sweeney takes the set piece but Alexander gathers without too much trouble. Rangers break at the other end but Aird's first-time strike flies across the face of goal and goes wide.

Dean Shiels is replaced by Andy Mitchell. Shiels may not have gotten on the scoresheet today but his workrate and creativity have been impressive.

A Clyde corner falls to Kane out wide, who plays a ball into the box, but once again Alexander is first to it. Rangers break from his throw but can't break down their opponents' defence.

Substitute Scullion drags an effort well wide for Clyde, pretty much summing up their afternoon. There has been a huge gulf in quality on show today and I'd say 4-1 is a fair reflection.

McGachie heads well over for Clyde before Rangers win a free kick at the other end. McKay swings in a cross but it is headed clear.

There goes the final whistle. A comprehensive victory for Rangers and a masterclass in finishing from Andy Little and David Templeton. Clyde were outclassed all over the pitch and have now lost to the Gers three times this season.

Rangers' lead at the top of the table will remain at 22 points as second-placed Queens Park defeated Berwick 2-1 today, but McCoist's side are edging ever closer to the title and it looks like they are going to secure it in record time.
