Wes Hoolahan refusing to give up on Euro 2012

Norwich City midfielder Wes Hoolahan believes that there is still time to force his way into the Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2012.

Norwich City midfielder Wes Hoolahan has refused to give up hope of being named in the Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2012.

The 29-year-old has received a number plaudits for his performances in the Premier League this season.

Despite the praise, the playmaker has so far been overlooked by Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni.

However, Hoolahan believes that Trapattoni may request his services this summer if he continues to put in impressive displays for the Canaries.

"It's simple really, I just hope that if I keep playing for Norwich, and playing well, the call-up might come," said Hoolahan. "I heard that Trapattoni came to see Norwich against Wolves the other week. I played well and a few of the papers named me as man of the match so maybe he was impressed.

"I haven't given up hope, you can never stop dreaming.

"Players might pull out, you might have an injury or two and I am realistic enough to know that I would need something like that to happen for me to make the squad."

Hoolahan has one international cap to his name.
