Middlesbrough are expected to complete a deal for Doncaster Rovers defender George Friend on Monday.
Friend, who is undergoing a medical today with Middlesbrough, was strongly linked with a move to Tony Mowbray's side last week and the club is now poised to complete the transfer.
"Boro have agreed a fee with Doncaster Rovers for the transfer of defender George Friend," Middlesbrough said in a statement.
"He is undergoing a medical and the final details of the transfer are expected to be completed on Monday."
Friend, who played 29 times for Doncaster last season, has already agreed terms with the club.
