Tony Mowbray delighted with Rhys Williams Australia call

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray admits that he is "delighted" after defender Rhys Williams earned a recall to the Australia squad.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray believes that the performances of defender Rhys Williams have earned him a recall to the Australia squad.

Williams missed five months of last season through injury, but after featuring in all of the club's matches this season, Mowbray is delighted that his return to form has been recognised.

The 49-year-old told the club's official website: "I'm delighted for Rhys.

"He needed a good pre-season under his belt after missing five months of last season through injury and it's good to see his performance levels back up where we know that they can be."

Australia travel to Brazil over the international break.
