Michael Dawson not distracted by Gareth Bale talk

Tottenham Hotspur captain Michael Dawson insists that he is not distracted by the rumours linking Gareth Bale with a move to Real Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur captain Michael Dawson has insisted that he is not distracted by the speculation over Gareth Bale's future at the club.

The Welsh winger has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, while Manchester United are also believed to be monitoring the 24-year-old's transfer situation.

"All you can do is concentrate individually as a team," Dawson told Sky Sports News.

"Gaz is a Tottenham player and the manager has come out and said he's staying, and that's great news.

"Gaz is a great lad, he keeps his head down and the way he has been playing, he is going to have speculation. His performances in recent years have been brilliant and that's what happens."

Bale joined Spurs from Southampton in 2007.
