Louis van Gaal: 'We are all frustrated at Manchester United'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal insists that the 'frustration' of the team's inconsistency goes beyond the dressing room.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has insisted that he, his staff and the players are "frustrated" with the club's season.

The Red Devils have struggled with inconsistency on the pitch as they have failed to launch a Premier League title challenge.

Van Gaal has been under pressure throughout the campaign following the team's early exit from the Champions League and their inability to overcome Liverpool in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The North-West outfit still have a chance of winning silverware, though, as they made it into the FA Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win over West Ham United in their quarter-final replay in midweek.

"The players but also the manager and his staff has been frustrated we've not been consistent this season," Van Gaal told reporters in Friday's press conference.

"When you have to line up every week another team because of injuries it's difficult to create a team building process, but still we are in the race for the first positions in the league and the FA cup so I'm very happy we can do that."

United are currently fifth in the league table, four points behind Manchester City, who occupy the final Champions League spot.

Recent reports have claimed that the United hierarchy will sack Van Gaal at the end of the season even if he guides the team to FA Cup glory.
