Salomon Kalou has backed Ivory Coast teammate Wilfried Bony to prove himself a hit at Manchester City ahead of his prospective move.
The Swansea City hitman, currently in Equatorial Guinea ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, is widely expected to complete a £28m switch to Eastlands after undergoing a medical in Abu Dhabi recently.
Manuel Pellegrini's side sit second in the Premier League table, two points behind Kalou's former club Chelsea, but the 29-year-old backs Bony to help the Citizens reclaim their title come May.
"He will bring strength," Kalou is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
"I think he's a very powerful striker and he knows how to score goals. I think he's going to add a lot of power for the team and a lot of goals.
"Just now he is focused on the African Cup of Nations, but we are all happy for him and hopefully he will have a good run there and win the league with City."
Bony, who has netted nine times this season, scored more Premier League goals in 2014 - 18 - than any other player.
