Joe Hart: 'We're not getting carried away'

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart says the team are remaining grounded after their strong start to the Premier League campaign.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has insisted that the team are remaining grounded after their perfect start to the new Premier League season.

Manuel Pellegrini's side made it three wins from three games on Sunday as they beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park.

The result equalled City's club record of nine top-flight wins in a row, which last occurred in 1912, and they could now beat that next weekend.

"We've come a little way but there were six wins at the end of a dead season. It's great to set records but we'd like that to be a record this season. Nine this season, that's what we're focused on now," Hart told the Manchester Evening News.

"Last season's gone, we've made those mistakes and we're starting again. Last year was difficult for us, especially playing the last six games. I think we constantly remind each other that we played the last six games for nothing and that's not been usual for how we've done things recently.

"We've started the season well but we appreciate that starting the season means nothing. It's a long season. But people have started well."

City face Watford next Saturday.
