Jose Enrique move to Newcastle United breaks down?

The proposed move of Jose Enrique from Liverpool to Newcastle United reportedly breaks down over personal terms.

The proposed deadline-day move of Jose Enrique from Liverpool to Newcastle United has reportedly broken down.

The 30-year-old Spanish full-back has not featured at all in the Premier League this season and has made just eight starts in the top flight over the past three campaigns.

Reports emerged earlier today that Newcastle could look to bring him back to St James' Park, where he spent four years from 2007 to 2011.

However, it is understood that Enrique was keen on a longer deal than Newcastle were willing to offer, resulting in a breakdown in negotiations.

Enrique has just six months remaining on his contract at Anfield and will be free to leave the club in the summer.
