Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers not concerned by lack of second-half goals

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is not concerned that his side has failed to score after half time in any Premier League match this season.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he has no concerns about the club's failure to score in the second half of matches.

Liverpool have yet to net after half time in the Premier League this season, with their latest goal coming in the 37th minute.

Rodgers takes his side to Sunderland on Sunday and ahead of the clash the former Swansea City boss allayed any fears about the statistic.

"It is well documented we haven't scored a goal [in the second half] and sometimes that trend surprises you when you hear that," he told reporters.

"Probably in some of the games in the second half we have sat a bit deeper and have seen out the results, but Swansea we didn't.

"It doesn't concern me. It is something we will work on."

Victory for Liverpool over Sunderland will send the Reds level on points with top-of-the-table Tottenham Hotspur.
