Report: Everton had Yacine Brahimi bid rejected on deadline day

Everton reportedly saw a £33.6m bid knocked back for Porto's Yacine Brahimi on deadline day as the club were allegedly hoping for a larger bid from Liverpool.

Everton reportedly had a £33.6m bid for Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi rejected on transfer deadline day.

The Toffees were strongly linked with making a bid for the Algeria international over the summer before the transfer window slammed shut without the move being completed.

According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Porto turned down the offer from Goodison Park as they hoped that a larger one would arrive from city rivals Liverpool.

Brahimi has scored 22 times in 86 appearances for the Dragoes in all competitions.
