Joe Allen has conceded that he "was nervous" prior to converting the penalty that saw Liverpool advance through to the League Cup final this evening.
Stoke City winger Marko Arnautovic scored the only goal of the game at Anfield, levelling up the tie at one goal apiece.
The resultant shootout was locked at 5-5 when Allen stepped up to send Jack Butland the wrong way from 12 yards, sparking scenes of celebration among the players and the home faithful.
"I was nervous, there was confusion about who would take the seventh penalty but I picked the right corner and it's electric here now," he told Sky Sports News.
The Merseysiders have won the competition a record eight times.
