Head coach Enzo Maresca suggests that he is not overly concerned that his Leicester City side lost to Leeds United in the Championship on Friday night.

Head coach Enzo Maresca has claimed that it is "normal" that his Leicester City side are going to lose some matches in the Championship.

The Foxes went into Friday's showdown with Leeds United with the opportunity to move eight points clear at the top of the standings.

However, Maresca watched Leicester succumb to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of a potential promotion rival with Georginio Rutter netting the decisive strike shortly after the interval.

Despite Leeds' recent resurgence, Leicester's second 1-0 loss - the other being to Hull City - this season came as a surprise.

Nevertheless, Maresca has played down the significance of suffering a narrow loss to the Yorkshire giants, acknowledging that he had bene satisfied with his performance.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leicester, Maresca said: "Overall I'm happy with the performance because they competed, we created some chances.

"I don't think we deserved to lose the game, but it's football. We always say the same, we cannot control the results, but we expected them to use their weapons like counter-attacks, it was the game we expected.

"The race is long, 46 games, we cannot think to win, win, win, win, it's normal that we are going to lose and draw games, and win for sure.

"But in the end the most important thing is the way they behave and that tonight has been good - we created chances, tried to play our football and so for me overall it was a good performance."

Ipswich Town can now cut Leicester's advantage in first place to two points if they can overcome Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester return to action on November 11 when they make the trip to another in-form side in Middlesbrough.
