Lack of goals concerning Mick McCarthy

Mick McCarthy admits that his Ipswich Town team need to start scoring more goals.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has admitted that he is concerned by his side's struggle to score goals in recent weeks.

Since they defeated Middlesbrough 4-0 at the beginning of February, McCarthy's men have scored just twice from seven Championship outings.

They are also the lowest scorers in the division and with that in mind, McCarthy has insisted that his players will continue to work on their finishing until they start to find the net on a more regular basis.

"We're the lowest scorers in the division so, yes, of course it's a concern to me," he told the East Anglian Daily Times. "We know we've got to score more. We work on it every single day, there's always a finishing session, and we'll keep working on it."

Next up for Ipswich is a home match against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
