England striker Daniel Sturridge has insisted that he will do all that he can to secure a place at the Brazil World Cup for the Three Lions.
Roy Hodgson's men can qualify for the 2014 tournament if they grab all three points from Poland in their final World Cup qualifier at Wembley tonight.
"Every player has the opportunity to stake their claim as one of the world's best players," Sturridge told Life + Times magazine. "The World Cup allows people to become things. Someone will become a hero. Someone will inevitably become a villain.
"Hopefully we'll have some success. I'm not going to lie and say that isn't the aim, but it's going to be difficult.
"For now, I just have to concentrate on first helping us get there and then being on that plane. That's the most important thing."
Sturridge will win his eighth England cap if he starts in the game tonight.
