Poland boss Waldemar Fornalik: 'We have point to prove at Wembley'

Poland coach Waldemar Fornalik declares that his side have a point to prove against England at Wembley tonight.

Poland coach Waldemar Fornalik has insisted that his side have a point to prove against England tonight, despite missing out on World Cup qualification.

Last Friday's defeat to Ukraine means that the Poles are out of the running in Group H, ahead of their final qualifier at Wembley this evening.

Fornalik is adamant that he will send out a side desperate to spoil England's chances of finishing top, while admitting that playing in front of 18,000 Poles at Wembley will provide all the incentive his players could need.

He told The Sun: "There are no meaningless games for Poland because we always want to win. And having so many Poles in the stadium will give us extra motivation.

"We want to finish the qualification programme in style and you can expect plenty of fighting spirit from my players. Just because we are not going to the World Cup, it does not mean that we have nothing to prove.

"We want to show that in this game. The motivation is in playing England at Wembley in the final game of the qualifiers. That is all we need."

Roy Hodgson's troops will make sure of a trip to Brazil next summer by beating Poland, but anything less is likely to see Ukraine earn top spot in Group H.
