Report: Chelsea still in for Jose Gaya

Valencia left-back Jose Gaya is still a transfer target for Chelsea, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly still interested in signing Valencia defender Jose Gaya, despite the teenager penning a new five-year deal at the Mestalla earlier this summer.

The 20-year-old was promoted to the Los Che first team last season and appeared in all but three of their La Liga fixtures during the 2014-15 campaign.

The Spaniard's impressive form led to suggestions that a number of clubs, including Chelsea and Real Madrid, were preparing summer moves, but after much speculation, Gaya signed a new five-year contract in May.

According to The Metro, however, Chelsea are prepared to push ahead with a move in January as Jose Mourinho looks to add youth to his squad following a disappointing start to the new campaign.

Gaya, who has been with Valencia since 2006, has four Spanish Under-21 appearances to his name.
