Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is eager to bring Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, according to reports.
Bosingwa, whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of this season, has rejected an offer to remain with the London club, according to The Sun.
Reports in Spain suggest that the Portugal international has already agreed a deal to join the Spanish league leaders under the Bosman ruling.
It is understood that Mourinho is confident that he will beat off competition from other interested parties, including AC Milan and big-spending Paris Saint-Germain.
Bosingwa signed with the Blues from FC Porto in 2008.
