Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: 'Maccabi Tel Aviv could beat us in Champions League'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho expects Maccabi Tel Aviv to provide a stern test in the Blues' opening Champions League match of the season.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has played down suggestions that Maccabi Tel Aviv will offer his side an easy opportunity to pick up their first home win of the season in Wednesday's Champions League Group G opener.

The Blues have managed just one point from a possible six in their first two games at Stamford Bridge this season, drawing 2-2 with Swansea City on the opening day before losing to Crystal Palace on matchday four.

"Yes, [Maccabi] can beat us, but at the same time we also know we are a better team," Mourinho told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

"We have just to prove that in the game. A very big result is three points. We go for that."

The other two teams in Chelsea's group are Dynamo Kiev and the club where Mourinho made his name, Porto.
