Maccabi Tel Aviv boss Slavisa Jokanovic aims to pile pressure on Chelsea

Maccabi Tel Aviv boss Slavisa Jokanovic says that his side will look to increase the pressure on Chelsea when the sides meet in the Champions League.

Maccabi Tel Aviv manager Slavisa Jokanovic has suggested that his side will aim to increase the pressure on Chelsea when the sides meet in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The reigning Premier League champions have made a slow start to the new season, taking four points from their opening five games.

Jokanovic, who played for Chelsea from 2000 to 2002, expects that Jose Mourinho's side will have a point to prove in their group stage clash.

"This is not my business but, of course, I am surprised even if I believe there is enough quality in the team, Mourinho is a quality coach and generally they will do much better in the Premier League," Jokanovic told The Telegraph.

"I don't believe I'm going to find anything easy on Wednesday night. Because of the situation they are in they are going to be very concentrated, very motivated and they will make it very difficult for us. But it's my job to find solutions.

"They will be under pressure so we certainly do not expect anything to be easy but hopefully we can use that pressure."

Maccabi reached the group stage by beating Basel in the third qualifying round.
