A Craig Bellamy goal gives Cardiff City a 1-0 lead against Birmingham City at home.

Cardiff City lead Birmingham City 1-0 at home at half-time in the Championship, thanks to a Craig Bellamy goal.

The first real chance of the game fell to the Blues in the 15th minute, when Leroy Lita tried to turn in Keith Fahey's free kick, but David Marshall made a good save between the Cardiff posts.

Eight minutes later Peter Lovenkrands made a good clearance from a Peter Whittingham free kick for Cardiff.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 39th minute when Bellamy turned home Mark Hudson's pass from inside the Birmingham penalty box.
