Neal Eardley returns to Birmingham City

Birmingham City recall defender Neal Eardley from his loan stint at League One side Leyton Orient.

Neal Eardley has returned to Birmingham City after the Championship club cut his loan with Leyton Orient short.

The 26-year-old has not played since making his Orient debut in a 2-0 defeat at Colchester United last month.

The defender's one-month loan at the League One club was due to expire on February 22, but the Blues have opted to recall him to St Andrew's a fortnight early.

However, Eardley will not be able to feature for Gary Rowett's side until February 23 due to his registration with Orient.

The Wales international joined Birmingham from Blackpool in the summer of 2013.
