AC Milan boss Clarence Seedorf upbeat following defeat

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf remains upbeat following his side's 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid.

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf has insisted that there are positives to draw from his side's 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Diego Costa scored the only goal in the first leg of the last-16 clash, but the Dutchman said that he was proud of his team's performance.

"Everyone saw what my guys have done on the pitch. I'm proud of what they did. In the last 20 minutes we fell a little, and Atletico grew," he told Sky Sports News. "We have been unlucky and suffered in the end.

"In the first half we were very positive. I think [Mario] Balotelli showed many good things. He's growing all the time.

"We showed big respect to Atletico and big courage. The supporters gave us a lot of help and I'm confident heading into the second leg."

The return leg will take place in Spain on March 11.
