Arsenal 'not interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani'

Arsenal are reportedly not interested in trying to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, despite rumours suggesting otherwise.

Arsenal are reportedly not considering a late swoop for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani.

There have been suggestions that manager Arsene Wenger has switched his attention to the Uruguayan after missing out on Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.

On Monday, the France international rubbished reports that he could leave the Bernabeu, despite speculation that he was close to agreeing a move to the Emirates.

Now, French journalist Pierre Menes has poured cold water on reports that Arsenal are considering a move for Cavani by tweeting: "To be clear Arsene Wenger never wanted Cavani. What a surprise..."

Goalkeeper Petr Cech is the only signing to be made by Arsenal so far this summer.
