Richard Agar: 'Justin Poore must control emotions'

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats coach Richard Agar says that Justin Poore must change his ways after receiving his second red card since joining the team.

Richard Agar has said that Justin Poore must learn to control his emotions while playing in the Super League.

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats prop has been sent off twice since joining the side ahead of the 2013 season, receiving a one-match ban for the most recent offence.

The team's coach told Sky Sports News: "He's not got a huge history of violent play despite 10 years playing senior rugby but he's had two [red cards] since he's been here.

"In both instances he wasn't the aggressor but he reacted. He has got to change his ways. He's got to keep his emotions in check far better because, if he doesn't, every week he's going to find people are going to make him a target and start trying to wind him up.

"He's a smart enough player. He says it is out of character and his previous record suggests that is the case. He certainly over-reacted. You can't go throwing hay-makers at people's chins."

The 28-year-old will miss Sunday's game against Warrington Wolves because of the suspension.
