Draw maintains San Jose Earthquakes' home run

San Jose Earthquakes and Vancouver Whitecaps play out a goalless draw at Buck Shaw Stadium, which is of little use to either side.

San Jose Earthquakes have extended their unbeaten home run to 14 games with a goalless draw at home to Vancouver Whitecaps.

The result means that both teams stay on 38 points in the MLS Western Conference, five points off fifth-placed Portland Timbers.

Mark Watson's men came close to snatching the points with two minutes remaining, but Walter Martinez's header from Marvin Chavez's corner shaved the post.

However, neither side could find a winner in a frantic finish at Buck Shaw Stadium.
