Sampdoria see off Torino

Goals from Manolo Gabbiadini and Stefano Okaka give Sampdoria a 2-0 win at home to Torino in Serie A.

Sampdoria have picked up their first victory of the Serie A season with a 2-0 win at home to Torino.

An ill-tempered opening half came alive on 37 minutes when Manolo Gabbiadini's low free kick from the edge of the box put the hosts ahead.

Gabbiadini then came within inches of making it 2-0 on 65 minutes, but a second free kick from the striker rattled the woodwork.

However, Sampdoria did make sure of the points with just 10 minutes left to play as Stefano Okaka took on three Torino defenders before shooting into the bottom corner from a tight angle.
