Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has admitted that the club is going through a difficult period.
Alex McLeish stepped down as manager on Tuesday after just five weeks in charge, and Al Hasawi has said that the club are currently enduring a tough time.
"I cannot pretend that the last six months or so have been an easy time, either for myself and my family or the club as a whole," he told the club's official website.
"I know that many of our fans are frustrated. I want them to know that I share their frustrations but I remain as committed as ever to Nottingham Forest.
"We will return Nottingham Forest to its former glory."
It is believed that McLeish stood down from his post after Al Hasawi decided not to sign George Boyd on transfer deadline day due to complications surrounding the Peterborough United player's eyesight.
