Brentford draw hands Wolverhampton Wanderers League One title

A late equaliser from Izale McLeod earns the MK Dons a point in their clash with Brentford as they come from two goals down in a result that hands Wolverhampton Wanderers the title.

Izale McLeod scored in the 93rd minute to hand the MK Dons a draw in their clash with Brentford in a result that has handed the League One title to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The visitors started the game on the front foot and Adam Forshaw found room for an effort at goal from 25 yards out, but David Martin was on hand to make a good save.

MK Dons hit back and almost took the lead when McLeod raided down the left flank and cut the ball back for Daniel Powell, but his shot went wide of the target.

The home side were handed an excellent chance to take the lead when Matthew Kennedy released McLeod, but the striker could only fire his effort straight at David Button, who made the save.

The visitors took the lead right on half time when Martin came for Alan Judge's corner and dropped the ball right at the feet of Tarkowski, who slotted the ball home.

After the break, MK Dons pushed to get back into the game and substitute Ryan Hall came close as he raided down the left and screwed a shot just wide of the post.

Brentford doubled their lead in the 59th minute when Forshaw threaded a through ball for Clayton Donaldson and he made no mistake firing past Martin.

Forshaw nearly added a third for the visitors when he latched onto a loose ball in the Dons' area, but Martin was there to make a good stop to turn the ball past the post.

MK Dons got a lifeline when McLeod was brought down in the area by Button and a penalty was awarded. Stephen Gleeson stepped up and fired the kick past Button to give his side hope.

The home side got their equaliser in the dying minutes when McLeod headed Hall's cross into the net from close range to earn the Dons a point.
